July 2012 : 101 in 1001
It’s 101 in 1001 monthly recap time. And I’m definitely excited about this one. Last month was full of disappointments and getting not a single thing checked off my list but this month I was on a mission to make things happen! So, here we go for July!
45. Not log into Facebook for a whole week (disable phone as well) {Completed 7/2012}
I am happy to say that I accomplished this! And the best part was, it was while I was in Boston! I’m not sure if that made it easier or more difficult. Being away from home and having only Twitter to communicate was difficult at first but refreshing. Over the long anti-Facebook week, I came to realize that I did not miss it at all. Don’t get me wrong, I got back on but I did notice that I rarely check Facebook like I use to. Let’s face it, Facebook isn’t what it use to be. It’s full of nothing but drama and ads for games that everyone plays when they have nothing better to do. On occasion, I find someone post something worth while and it’s typically only because that individual hasn’t realized that there are things like twitter and instagram out there that are 1,000x better. Or is that just my friends? Anyways, the week went by fast and I’m glad I did it! For now, I’m still loving Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest A LOT more!

62. Get a new Tiffany’s ring {7/2012}
It may just be one of their simple, classic rings but I’ve been looking forward to getting a new one for awhile now! I forgot they had a store in Boston and when planning my last minute trip I knew that stopping there was a must!
83. Watch 50 new movies (Try different genres) : {21/50}
I only completed 1 movie this month (Big East Express) but I’m slowly getting there. I was happy I decided on this movie since my whole motivation behind setting this goal was to watch new and different movies. Since starting, I’ve started to watch a lot more Indie movies and this was a documentary which I honestly don’t think I’ve ever watched before. I’m not going to put that on my favorites list but the last 20 minutes of this film blew me away!
84. Complete at least 10 DIY projects from my Pinterest {Completed 7/2012}
I completed my 10 DIY projects from Pinterest this month! Wo ho! 10 seems like such a small number but for some reason this was a challenge. So, here’s the line up for what was completed : paint chip calendar, foam soap, baking soda as a teeth whitener, homemade body wash, microdermabrasion, glitter keys, half glitter mason jar, sugar scrub, vanilla extract and shampoo. The shampoo was the only item I completed this month but the rest have been items I’ve worked on and completed since the start of this 1001.

85. Try at least 25 new recipes from Pinterest {17/25}
I have not completed this one yet but I did some damage with two new recipes this month. They included a BBQ tofu recipe and chocolate chip cookie dough popsicle.
90. Go to Boston {7/2012}
My most exciting item to check off my list this month was definitely my trip to Boston! I had an amazing time and actually ended up taking over the blog with Boston related things for a whole week!
99. Create a photography portfolio {Completed 7/2012}
It may not be the most wonderful portfolio ever but it’s definitely a pretty decent start. I really wanted to make sure I had a collection together for prospective clients. I have my photography blog and a gallery as well. But, I figured it’d put together a few photos that I believe are my best for future clients to see.
So, there you have it! My July round up. I can’t wait to see what August will bring. I’m hoping to continue with my Starbucks damage for #23 … oh, body and bank account… I’m sorry!
