Sephora Haul

So, if you follow me on instagram then you may have seen that this past week a mini Sephora opened in my area. It will be the death of me. Sephora is my biggest weakness. Luckily, it’s just a mini shop so I won’t be too bad… maybe. Anyways, I stopped in on their grand opening and had a grand ol’ time testing every little thing. And let’s just say I came out with a lot.

These little samples were from a small bag they were giving away since it was the grand opening. The Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Amsterdam is great. I definitely hope to buy a full size some time in the future. It’s the perfect shade. As for the other samples shown, I haven’t had a chance to try them yet but I’m definitely excited about all of them except the moisturizer. I have oily skin so I’ll have to pass on this one.

You can see a hint of my new Korres Lip Butter in Quince. It’s a great rose shade and looks perfect for this time of year. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, I really dislike glosses I have to put on with my finger but this was too pretty to pass up! You’ll also see Benefit Cosemetics Full Finish Lipstick in Lady’s Choice, Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mini Mascara, The Body Shop Tea Tree Gel and two rollerballs in Marc Jacobs Daisy and Vera Wang Princess. I’ve already raved about Lady’s Choice in previous entries… so, I knew I’d love it.  They’re Real Mascara is always on beauty blogs, so I gave in but since I already have way too many mascaras I opted for the mini version. I’ve used it a few times and it’s pretty good but I still have some other favorites. The Tea Tree Gel is a spot treatment and so far so good! I’ve used a few times and I’ve been impressed so – yay! As for the two fragrances, love them! I’ve had my eye on these for a while but since part of my 101 in 1001 is to cut down on my beauty products I’ve been trying to not purchase new fragrances. That obviously did not work this week… oh, well!

Speaking of fragrance, I did cave in and get one full size bottle. Miss Dior Cherie. I’ve put this on every time I’ve entered a department store or Ulta for the past few months. It was time! Also, you can see The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Blemish Night Lotion in the photo as well. I used it a few times and actually started to break out. Not sure if it’s the lotion or not though. I did start using a few new products, so I won’t dismiss this product just yet.

These little gems are almost too pretty to use!

The last of my haul! Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer in Light. I’ve talked about this before and I’ll say it again – Love this stuff! It’s perfect and amazing and super pricey but I could care less. It’s an amazing product and what I actually went to Sephora for the other day! I also picked up  The Healthy Deodorant in Lavanila. I was not impressed – at all. I used it two days and it actually gave me b.o.! Seriously. Bad stuff. But, don’t worry, I won’t end on a bad note. My last two items were a Sephora Round Power Brush, which I’m loving for all over coverage (I wish it was more soft though… especially for its $30+ price tag!) and NARS Blush in Orgasm. I always hear people raving about NARS and this blush so I had to give it a try and, yup, it’s pretty amazing!

Well, there you have it. I’m so excited Sephora is around and I no longer have to go to Ulta. You all should know my hatred towards that store by now. Anyways, I’d say that’s all for now, but that’s not true. There were actually a few things that weren’t available at this location since it’s tiny, so I had to order online. That should be here today… Don’t judge! haha

I live in Germany and I’ve been seeing you American girls talk about Sephora so much recently… I looked online and I can’t see how it’s any different to buying makeup from a department store. I’m being very dumb here but… what’s so special about it? (Haha sorry..)

It’s no problem! I could see how it all looks the same. Sephora and department stores are similar in ways. Sephora just has a lot of products. I’m not sure what department stores are like there, but around here they usually have less than 10 brands of cosmetics, where Sephora has probably 50+ in most locations. For me, it’s all about variety and that it’s typically a one stop shop for me and I can get everything. They have great quality items as well and their service is usually great too.

Thanks for your reply! I wish we had it over here. France has a Sephora website but no shops, it seems.

Amazing haul! I too just grabbed that Benefit They’re Real! Mini and I just love the way it makes my lashes look. I also have orgasm! It’s such a flattering blush
