I’ve finally gotten around to posting my daily makeup routine! I like a pretty basic routine (even though now that I write it down and post all the photos I’m pretty blown away to how complicated it looks… I swear it isn’t – at all!)
Before I start applying anything, I use my Dermalogica Mattifier and Spot Treatment. I just started using these recently and love them both. Other Mattifiers tend to clog my pores and cause more problems than they are worth so I really prefer this one.
As for foundation, I’ve been using Smashbox’s BB cream a lot lately but sometimes I prefer Maybelline’s Airfoam foundation on warmer days. I definitely think this will be my go to item this summer! It applies super easy and you can get a light or heavy coverage depending on how you want to apply it. In addition to these two foundations, I do use Revlon’s Colorstay but usually only in the winter months or when I know I’ll need heavy coverage all day. As for concealor, I prefer Boiing! It has a great coverage but light feeling so it doesn’t get heavy and gross by the end of the day. Although, if I know that I’ll need good coverage for a long day, I will use Erase Paste but since it is a heavier consistency it tends to make me break out if I use it on a regular basis. For an overall finishing powder, I use L’Oreal’s True Match. It comes with a makeup pad but I only use this for touch ups throughout the day. I typically apply this with a kabuki brush instead. (You can find this brush and all my other tools on my previous post here.) Once I’ve done a quick sweep of this powder, I finish off with Bare Minerals Warmth. I love this product because depending on the time of year you can create a completely different face. During the winter, I usually just do a quick sweep of color but in the summer I can use a little more for a glowing tan look. Lastly, I finish my face off with Elf’s blush in Tickled Pink or if it’s a more casual, less makeup kind of day, then I use Elf’s Bronzer in Golden which is more like a highlighting powder than bronzer.
On to the eyes! I’m not one for crazy makeup when it comes to my eyes. I’ve mentioned before and I’ll say it again… I’m a pretty casual kind of person. My job definitely influences this since I can throw on some skinny jeans, hoodie and call it a day really. I love that aspect of my job but hate it sometimes too. I think if I had to I’d definitely dress up a little more for work but usually comfort wins, sadly. Anyways, for my eyes, I usually start off with Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray, especially when I know I have a long day ahead of me. My go to eye shadow is L’Oreal’s Shadow Duo in Darling. I love it! It’s perfect and simple and can give you a pretty basic eye or a great pop depending on how you decide to blend the two colors. They have a whole collection of duos so definitely check them out! If I’m going for a more dramatic eye, I use Maybelline’s Liquid Eyeliner. I was always afraid of liquid eyeliners and could not apply them for the life of me but this applicator makes it extremely easy! My last finishing touches for my eyes are a great brow pencil and mascara. My two favorites include Benefit’s Instant Brow Pencil (It’s perfect and doesn’t’ smudge!) and Maybelline’s Great Lash Mascara (The brush is amazing!). As for my mascara, I use a lot of different ones (I’ll make a separate post on that later) but this is definitely my favorite currently.
Lastly, comes my lips. I’ve mentioned before in my lip color post that I’m new at experimenting with lip color so I usually just throw on a gloss and call it a day but if I’m feeling a little more venturous then I usually go for one of these two items : Benefit’s Lady’s Choice or Jouer’s Birchbox Pink which I got in my February BirchBox.
So, there you have it. My currently daily routine for makeup! Let me know if you have questions on any of the products or if you’d like to see more of these posts in the future!

When i was purchasing concealer, it was a total toss up between the erase paste and boiing, i just couldn’t decide, I’m loving the erase paste though, once i’m done I’ll try out the other one.
